Wrapping Up Unit 3

✅ What We’ve Been Learning
  • Adding 3 numbers using strategies like counting on, making tens, and using pictures or objects

  • Counting forward and backward within 120

  • Exploring patterns on the 120 chart, such as noticing what happens when we move up, down, or across the chart

Your children have done a wonderful job building their number sense and explaining their thinking!

📏 Coming Up Next: Unit 4 – Measurement!

Our next math unit will focus on linear measurement. Students will learn how to measure length using:

  • Nonstandard units (like paper clips, cubes, or blocks)

  • Standard units (such as inches and centimeters)

🐟 Vermont Fish Mini Unit

To make learning extra engaging, we’ll be incorporating measurement into a mini unit on Vermont fish! Students will:

  • Measure fish to see which ones are “keepers”

  • Compare lengths and talk about measurement accuracy

  • Apply math skills to real-world science topics

We’re also excited to collaborate with Mrs. Auctor on an art integration project, combining measurement,
creativity, and learning about fish!
