We Read 200 Hours!

Our 1st graders worked hard this year! They met our final reading challenge of 200 hours! They earned make your on Fruit-Sicle and Extra Recess Day!

First we had to chop the fruit!

Mr. Berry came in to lend a hand!

Then the learners got to fill their cups with fruit. We topped off the cups with juice and put the sticks in!
After a bit in the big freezer, we had fruit-sicles!! Some were more frozen than others :) They were all tasty!!

Thank you for all the donations that made our Fruit-Sicles possible!!!

Sharing With Our Kindergarteners About 1st Grade!

Today our first graders spent some time thinking of all the things we did this year!  Here is the start of our list!

There were so many things we enjoyed doing together!  We decided to share a few things about first grade with our kindergarteners.  Here are a few examples.  We will be passing these letters on tomorrow! I'm so proud of the writers our first graders have become.

Community Field Trip

Wow! What a day! We started our trip with a visit to the Round Church, taking lots of pictures along the way!
Next we made our way to Richmond Rescue! We had a chance to see inside an ambulance and hear all about how EMT's help our community.
Then our group got to visit On The Rise Bakery! We learned that working at the bakery can mean getting to work very early! We also enjoyed a yummy homemade bagel!
Our last stop was the Richmond Library! We learned the library has 10,000 different children's books. You need to be  6 years old to get your very own library card. It only takes about 5 minutes to fill out the card paperwork! Stop by the Richmond Library and help your child get their very own library card!
Thank you to all our community helpers who made today's trip possible!
