Young Architects Make 3D Designs

Unit 9 in our math program has inspired our young architects to create some amazing designs.  Today learners rotated through several 3D shape design and critical thinking centers.  Students used texts to generate ideas and created their own buildings out of geoblocks and Legos.  Next, they tried building and sketching.  Learners created castles and skyscrapers and then drew the 3D structures on paper.  Our final station was the Jenga center. Students moved and shifted blocks to see how high they could build the Jenga structure.  The creativity was off the charts!
