This book has inspired our first graders to want to learn more about penguins! So, to honor their request, we are starting a short focused research project on penguins!
We started by figuring out what we know and what we want to learn about penguins. We created a Can, Have, Are page about penguins.
-Next, first graders started to collect pengiun facts!
-Students will compare fiction penguin texts to nonfiction texts, learning more about the author's purpose for writing each text.
-Students will compile their facts into a short nonfiction write up about penguins!
