Getting Outdoors For Our Week of 12/20-12/23

Although this was a short week we packed it full of fun.  Your student brought home a few handmade gifts for your family.  They worked hard and are so proud of their work.

This week we:

  • Learned about the Shortest Day of the Year and how they celebrate it in Sweden

  • Created bird feeders for our outdoor classroom

  • Practiced True or False math equations

  • Finished our How To Books!

  • Celebrated following school expectations with pj and movie day

  • Made gifts for our families!

  • Read lots of stories written by Jan Brett

  • Used Art Hub for Kids to learn to draw all sorts of things!

When we return from our break we will:

  • Start new units on Reading and Writing Nonfiction

  • Learn about animals and how they adapt to their environment

  • Add more glued sounds and blends to our phonics skills

  • Build stamina in our reading to self time (best way to become a better reader!)

  • Learn to count larger quantities

  • Work on skip counting 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s  on and off the decade
