What a great first day of school! Today we spent some time getting to know each other and our classroom space!  This afternoon we had a chance to try Magic Playdough!  Below is the poem we read together and just like magic, everyone's playdough changed color! Thank you so much for all of the supply donations!  Our class is so lucky!

Dear First Grader and Family,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer!  School will be starting in just a few weeks and I’m very excited to get to know you and your classmates.  In addition to some summer fun, I have also been busy planning lots of fun activities for the beginning of the year, along with Ms.  Purvee and Mrs. Poor!  We will begin the year building “Our Caring Classroom,” by working on ways to create a safe, respectful community, both in our classroom and our school.

School starts on Wednesday, August 25th.  Please remember the official start of our school day is 7:50.  Remember to bring a healthy snack and lunch with you, or plan to pick up one or both from our school cafeteria.  Your backpack and lunchbox should have your name on them. I have included a list of back to school supplies. Some of the items will stay in your cubby, while others are combined for classroom community use. Please let me know if there is anything on the list you are unable to find or purchase.  I provide extras of everything.    

In order for our first day to run smoothly, please bring a note about where you are going after school and how you are getting there.

I would love to hear about what you have been up to over the summer! Remember if you mail me a letter or a picture, I will write you back!  Just remember to include your address on the envelope.  My address is 32 Lily Rd.  Fairfax, Vt 05454.
